12 Magnificent Curtain Sets at Royal Holloway
University of London, Egham made and fitted by the
ISF/Cool & Classic team in the Founders Dining Hall.
Working off a movable scaffold platform we installed
long and heavy curtains and fabric covered pelmets
at 5.5metre high windows to achieve this beautiful
result.
The
installation comes with high quality Silent Gliss
corded tracks and adjustable pelmet boards. These
allow the University to
adjust the drops down to the sills should the
material shrink over a period of time. The window
treatments should have at life of at least 15 years
before needing to be renewed.

Precision
manufactured in Germany, transported to the UK and
assembled by their team that arrives in huge
lorries, HUF HOUSES are environmentally the bees
knees. Timber framed and highly insulated, they
represent the epitome of housebuilding with lots of
large peaked glass windows, large beautifully
sliding patio doors, exposed steel components,
dramatic sloping roofs and much more.
ISF were asked by interior designer David Hales of
Bookham Surrey to come up with innovative ideas to
provide shading solutions to cover many of the
glazed areas. Working in cooperation with our
specialist window
blind
partners, electrically operated cellular pleated
blackout blinds were installed at the very high
sloping head windows at the front and sides of the
house. A combination of hand set controls enable the
householder to adjust the amount of light pouring
into the building to a fine degree from near total
blackout to almost no shading at all. The pleated
blinds fold up into tiny packages at the top of each
window that they are practically unnoticeable when
open. A single press on one controller can move
every blind in the house simultaneously making
homecoming or leaving the building simplicity itself
instead of a chore of dealing with all the blinds
one by one when time is pressing.
On a
callback months later we found the client delighted
with the operation of the system that they use every
day. The rectangular picture windows and patio doors
were treated in a complimentary stylish way. To give
sun screening whilst retaining views to the outside
superior spring operated Silent Gliss Roller blinds
with cool Corazza handles and exposed bottom bars
were used in the large lounge overlooking the
garden. Some windows even had Curtains! All
installed by our fitting team to precise parameters.
Extras included a very contemporary deep fluted wall
fixed headboard for the master bed made in our own
workshop and a variety of cushions.
Overall a
superb triumph of design and installation that all
participants on the job are very proud of.

Working
under the direction of David Hales Interior Design
of Surrey, this spring ISF supplied and fitted high
quality soft furnishings to an upmarket apartment in
Chelsea – very close to Harrods.
Our team made hand made curtains and blinds in
glowing silks and other sumptuous fabrics. An
electric curtain track takes rich curtains around 6
bends and curves in the front bay window.
Plantation shutters carefully painted to match
subtle wall colours arrived from half-way round the
world to be fitted at the last minute.

add the finishing touches.

A DREAM HOME CURTAINED and CARPETED by COOL & CLASSIC
Just like the pictures you might see in cutting edge
interiors magazines, this was a recently completed glorious
job of which we are immensely proud.
Working with the house owner, our Rachael Ives designed
striking black, white and silver soft furnishings for the
whole of this large house in the country close to Bedford.
